A Tree Stands Alone Poem
62
A tree stands alone
It shivers with the loneliness of the icy wind
It's beautiful green foliage has matured
The beautiful leaves no longer in need
Hath blown away
Dry and dead
To begin again-to richen the existing soil
Turning, turn across the ground
Until it comes to plant itself
It churns a complete cycle
To the ground where it becomes the land
But first through the quadrapeds -eaten and digested
Brought out anew to nourish-to feed-to warm
So the cycle continures for time indefinite

Cycle of life truly expressed in your wonderful poem. I loved it and enjoyed reading. Voted up as always.
Ah yes the circle of life. We are born, we grow into adults and take on challenges. Marriage, children and so many more responsibilities and then if the circle is broken decay begins, our branches break, our souls start to wither and the decay starts to set in. The buds we grew and nurtured abandon us to sprout branches on their own and in many cases fly alone leaving our nest and never returning.
Thus the cycle of life, yet this mature tree must stand tall and proud and continue to live. Wonderful expression from your verse I gathered here, beautifully done, Bravo. Voted Up awesome, beautiful and of course interesting. Loved it.
Your imagery is outstanding and you have a natural talent for painting a picture with words. YOur poem radiates sadness at the death of a cycle, but richness with the start of a new cycle in the Spring. Keep on writing. Robert

@vellur thanks for your compliment. I really love this poem too, I think we can all relate to it on some level. When I was writing it I was trying to come up with an understanding/explanation of the cycle of life.
